ACCREDITATION
THE IMPORTANCE OF WATER RESEARCH CENTRE APPROVAL
Listing Number 9602031
FITTING EQUIPMENT NOT APPROVED COULD LEAD TO A FINE AND REMOVAL OF THE EQUIPMENT BY THE LOCAL WATER AUTHORITY.

All equipment fitted to the mains water supply must comply with water by-laws. Since 1983 the Water Research Centre (WRC) has been responsible for the Water By-laws Scheme. The scheme operates in the UK on behalf of all the Water Companies and provides a service to examone and test water products to ascertain whether they comply with the by-laws for the prevention of waste, undue consumption, misuse or contamination of the water supply. Once found to comply, the water fitting can then be marketed and fitted anywhere in the country without further testing by individual water companies/authorities. The advantages are many. For the manufacturer/distributor - once the product has been approved and shown to comply with the by-laws it can be sold anywhere without further testing. For the water authority, there is no longer the need to test every new fitting appearing in their area and for water users, thay can check from the scheme's list of fittings that their intended purchase is indeed approved.

Because of the importance of WRC approval, many companies marketing water treatment products claim the components used to manufacture their products are approved. This is not good enough. A particular component may be quite harmless on it's own, but when placed in contact or close proximity to another may create a chemical reaction and thus cause contamination of the water supply. Unless the company can produce a valid, up yo date certificate, they do not have WRC approval on their products.

UNLESS THE COMPLETE PRODUCT IS APPROVED, THE FINE AND REMOVAL OF EQUIPMENT COULD APPLY. WHY TAKE RISKS? ALWAYS ENSURE YOU DEAL WITH A REPUTABLE COMPANY THAT HAS WRC APPROVAL

IMPORTANT:

Granular Activated Carbon (or GAC) alone does not remove heavy metals despite what many water treatment companies state. When GAC is completely new, it will remove a certain amount of heavy metals, just the same as a rolled up piece of tissue paper will absorb certain contaminants. But that ability very quickly becomes ineffective. So do not believe these claims because it is physically impossible. A test certificate does not prove these claims. A test report can be written to say anything. Remember, it is your health and your life.

To remove heavy metal as well as chemicals, toxins and other contaminats, the filter medium must also contain REDOX ALLOY, which 'eletroplates' out heavy metals such as Aluminium, Lead, Copper, including Flouride.
